Day 1: My Visit to Delphi

It’s my first day in Greece! 

I’m so excited to be here in Greece. I’m in the city of Delphi. 

In ancient Greece, Delphi was a religious site. It was the famous site of The Oracle. People would travel to the Oracle to get their fortunes told or to ask her a question and receive a response on what they should do. The ruins at Delphi today are the ruins of a temple built for the Oracle during ancient times. This stunning setting is surrounded by mountains and cliffs with beautiful views all around. Today, many tourists come to the ruins of the oracle. The view is stunning and although you have to take a bus to get there, the trip is worth it!

Most people take a tour with a group to see the ruins at Delphi. I decided to take the tour as well, especially because it seemed a lot easier that way to stay with my group. Delphi is about 2 hours Northwest of Athens. There’s a village in Delphi, which is where the tour starts.

The tour itself was really cool. The tour guide, Penny was very knowledgeable and she taught us a lot of historical facts and fascinating details.

The ruins were really awesome to see, and I got some great pictures. I can’t wait for my second day in Greece!
