Day 5: Athens (Day 2)!

The second day in Athens is when we saw the Parthenon.

The Parthenon is the famous site on the Acropolis. Since we checked out the Acropolis yesterday, we got to take more time today and look at the actual Parthenon as well.

The Parthenon is one of the most famous sites in Greece.

Parthenon: [Religious] My stop at the parthenon can relate in a religious aspect because it is a former temple that was built in honor of Goddess Athena.

Athena

The people of Athens considered Athena to be the patron goddess of their great city, which is why the temple is so important to the religion of the ancient Greeks.

If you look closely you can see statues of Athena built into the temple ruins
